Community gathers in Prestwich for free annual Clough Day celebrations

Thousands of residents gathered in Prestwich over the weekend for the town’s 21st year of Clough Day celebrations.

The event took place between 12pm and 5pm on Sunday 17 May 2026 at St Mary’s Flower Park, and commemorated the gifting of land to residents in 1906.

Organised by the Prestwich Clough Centenary Group, the afternoon offered a variety of free activities designed to draw all members of the local community together and remove financial barriers to fun.

Chair of the group, David Stanley, said: “Anybody can come whether they’ve got money or not.

“The idea is to make it inclusive so everybody can come down and have an afternoon where there’s no pressure.”
