Three men have been jailed for attacking and robbing a teenager.
The victim, a 15-year-old boy, was left in hospital with serious injuries after the attack in 2022. He was stabilised after undergoing emergency surgery.
Callum Henson, 24, Harry Jackson, 24, and Bailey Mann, 20, were sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on Monday 2 March.
The incident took place around 3am on Sunday 27 November 2022 on Upper Chorlton Road, Trafford.
The victim, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was at a cash machine when he saw a black BMW drive past him.
After doubling back and cutting the teenager off, the three men exited the car and proceeded to rob him at knifepoint.
The victim was stabbed twice and £120 stolen from him before his attackers left in the car.
The following police investigation, led by DC Marie-Louise Knight of Trafford CID, identified the offenders as Henson, Jackson and Mann.
Callum Henson, of Claridge Road, Manchester, was sentenced to 5 years and 6 months for robbery and assault.
Harry Jackson, of Ormskirk Avenue, Withington, was sentenced to 4 years and 10 months for assault.
Bailey Mann, of Chadstone, Northampton, was sentenced to 3 years in a young offenders’ institute for robbery.
DC Knight said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a young boy who was left with serious injuries which required extensive hospital treatment.
“I am grateful that they have now faced justice for their actions – not only for ourselves from an investigation side, but also for the victim and his family who were left shaken following this incident.”
DC Knight highlighted Trafford CID’s efforts to tackle knife crime and knife-related violence.
Across the borough, knife-enabled violence offences are down 29%, while stop searches have increased by 27%
“These sentencings show that we will not tolerate this type of violent crime,” DC Knight added.
“Knife crime has no place on our streets, and we will do all that we can to make sure offenders are punished, and our communities are safe.”
