
34 points separated Bury and Trafford this Saturday with Bury sitting at a competitive third place only three points off leaders Runcorn Rovers. They will be going into the game seeking to make things level with their game in hand. Trafford are in dire need of points sitting 8 points deep in the relegation zone. It was safe to say today’s game meant a lot to both teams.
Anticipation built as Shakers fans took their seats and players commenced their warm ups, Bon Jovi, The Final Countdown rang through Gigg Lane.
As the game kicked off Bury applied immediate pressure eager to get an early goal on the league bottom runners.

Bury capitalise on the brash Trafford mistake with number three Bailey Sloane slotting his free kick in the bottom left corner, curving it around the wall from the left side of the box. A wonderful finish, one to nil only 8 minutes in.

An unbelievable cross from Rustam Stepans found the head of Sloane at the far side of the box, the ball flew in off the crossbar completing a training ground set piece and extending Bury’s dominant display, things were getting from bad to worse for Trafford not even half an hour into the game.
Shakers in full flow in the stands and on the pitch dominating possession. The attack does not cease with Evans breaking through into the box who is then brought down by Trafford captain Norris, penalty awarded.

Trafford seemingly cannot do anything against this Bury first half masterclass, fleeting attempts are easily cut out by the Bury defensive unit.

Trafford completely under pressure from Bury, waiting for the half time whistle to relive them from the first half horror show.
Bury continue to utterly dominate possession and Trafford all over the pitch finding themselves another goal before half time making it 6-0. Stephans with his second assist of the game crossing the ball to Robinson who heads the ball home in stoppage time of the first half.

The heavens open as the second half commences.
Despite the overwhelming scoreline Trafford still show confidence through some attacking intent.
Bury win the ball back on the left flank bursting down the pitch honing in on their seventh goal. Striker Mo Touray is rolled the ball across the face of the goal after Stepan’s goes around Trafford Keeper Sam Booth and Touray rolls the ball into the keeper-less net. 7-0, 48 minuets in.
The long ball is still in full effect for Bury with Sloan continuing to fire long balls over the top of the Trafford backline finding Gomez frequently on the left hand side who has been tearing it up so far with his speed.
Kai Evans finds himself on the edge of the box with a nice strike which is parried down and poached by Bury number 9, Touray finding his second of the match.
This is completely out of hand with the Shakers leading 8-0.
Trafford nearly find their consolation with Davies cutting to the by-line and pulling it back for Charlie Frost who is denied with a quality piece of goal keeping from Allen. He hasn’t been tested much so far but when called up he shows his class.
Bury toying with Trafford on the edge of the box with Evans and Robinson as conductors who are still finding goal scoring opportunities for their side, still 30 minutes of football to play.
Trafford have had much more of the ball in this second half but has not managed to find anything with it thus far.
Gomes continues to tear apart the left side dribbling brilliantly past 3 Trafford defenders into the box where he squares it to find Evans who secures his second of the game. Bury lead an unbelievable nine to nil, 77 minutes played.
Trafford are helpless to the Bury offense who are still continuing to be spurred on by the ecstatic fans seeking a double digit scoreline. Bury have been untouchable.
Trafford are doing all they can to stop the scoreline from increasing including pulling players shirts when they have beaten them. Charlie Frost is shown yellow late on in this battering. Consequently he is subbed off seconds later.
Kai Evans was awarded Man of the Match for his display but really it could’ve gone to the whole Bury side today.
Three additional minuets were given at the end of the ninety but the full time whistle brought hopes of a double digit scoreline to a close. A demolition job for Bury lead them to a convincing win.
Trafford continue to sit bottom of the league with what hope they have left fading. Bury launch themselves to top of the league in a title worthy winning display. The game ends a spectacular 9-0.
