A man, 26, was arrested at 9:30 this morning after causing a collision. The incident happened after the man failed to stop at a give way junction at Gigg Lane, which caused another car to swerve to prevent a further collision.
The driver, who failed to brake, swerved and crashed into a car that was parked on the opposite side of the road.

The owner of the car, a dog groomer and the residents of the home came out of the house after hearing “screeching of breaks and a massive bang,”.
“I thought it was the end,” Sydney Williams said, “I looked to my right and he was flying down the road at like 30mph and didn’t press his breaks once,”
“He reversed so quickly after hitting the car, I thought he was going to go back into my car, I thought he was going to try and drive off, but his bumper was hanging off,”
“It used to be a roundabout before it was turned into a give-way junction because no one used to stop,” Lee Williams said.
The people at the scene said that they knew the driver of the vehicle had some type of substance the second he got out of the car.
He denied any consumption of drugs or alcohol, though later admitted to drinking when mention of calling the police was said.
The 26 year old who is a resident of Alfred Street said he “wasn’t aware there was a give way junction”, despite living up the road and the road was closed for construction earlier this year.
The police shortly arrived at the scene of the accident, when the man came clean about having been drinking the night before, and said he “might still be drunk”.
After a breathalyser, the police arrested him, the reading was 86 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath, more than twice the legal limit. The legal limit in England, Wales and Northern Ireland is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
